: The scene opens up in a doctors office. I don't need to describe it. We've all been in one. Just picture your own doctor's office. Sitting patiently on the exam table, doing something on his phone, is the current and greatest GCWA Unified X-Division champion and eventual winner of The Warriors of the Ring tournament, Mike Zybala. A few minutes pass before there is a knock on the door. Zybala calls out that it's open. The door opens and in walks in Doctor (redacted) holding a clipboard with a folder on it. Zybala and Doctor shake hands and Doctor sits in the chair next to the computer. :
Doctor: Mike, good to see you.
Zybala: Good to see you too, Doc. How've you been?
Doctor: I've been good. Busy with all the Corona. How are you? How's the wife and fixing up the house doing?
Zybala: She's doing good. The house work has stopped for the most part. And I wouldn't be here if I was doing good.
: Zybala and Doctor chuckle a bit. Doctor then opens up the folder and pulls out what looks like an X-ray of a skull. He puts the X-ray on the back light device on the wall and turns it on. We all can see the picture much better. :
Doctor: I know you said you've been having migraines and fainting spells lately. The good news is that they are being caused by a tumor, which is what we were worried about.
Zybala: It could be a tumor.
Doctor: (grins and with an Austrian accent) It's not a tumor! (normal voice) No, we checked the X-ray and couldn't find any signs. Though I think we should give you an MRI to be thorough. I wouldn't feel one hundred percent sure of ruling out a tumor without a MRI.
Zybala: I wouldn't be opposed to that. I wouldn't want brain cancer, but I would want to find out as fast as possible. That way we could treat it early and get rid of it.
Doctor: That is always the hope with any sickness. However, the migraines may not be caused by a tumor. You're still wrestling, right?
Zybala: Yeah, but I haven't really taken any more of the bumps and bruises that I'm used to though.
Doctor: That doesn't matter. You're not as young as you used to be. You've been wrestling… what… twelve, thirteen years now?
Zybala: It's been seventeen.
: Doctor gives a low whistle as he shakes his head. :
Doctor: There's your problem, Mike! Your body is slowing down. You've been putting it through the ringer for almost twenty years! Not to mention that coma you had back in 2013. I don't even want to know how many concussions you've had. Maybe the migraines are your body's way of telling you to slow down and quit wrestling. God knows that retiring would be good for the brain. It would be knocked around like a pinball any more.
Zybala: But I haven't been this good in years! I feel like I've been revitalized since I joined GCWA. I'm a champion! I'm going to win the Warriors of the Ring tournament! I'm going to beat Duce! I just can't quit when I'm in my prime!
Doctor: You won't be in your prime anymore if you end up a vegetable again! Do you think your wife wants to see you comatose? How can you guys start a family if you're the next Terry Schiavo?
: Zybala looks taken aback by this bluntness. He looks to the floor, tears welling up in his eyes, but doesn't say anything. Doctor puts his hand on Zybalas shoulder. :
Doctor: Look. That's all just my professional opinion. You may luck out and go on to wrestle for another seventeen years without any serious injuries. You may die tomorrow. I'm just saying that you really should quit. Find work elsewhere if you need the money, or find a hobby if you don't. Hell, become a professional Magic the Gathering player. Just think about what I said.
Zybala: I will. Cathy has been wanting me to quit lately too. We don't need the money. I made enough over the years to keep us set for life. Though she wouldn't like the Magic idea. She calls me a nerd everytime I.go to play with my friends or buy new packs. Maybe I'll start thinking about retirement after I win the tourney and take the world title from Mack.
Doctor: Just be careful. I don't want to see you hurt and if you end up comatose again, I'll deny you thrice and no longer be your primary.
Zybala: Does that mean you'll clear me to wrestle?
Doctor: As long as you promise that you'll seriously think about what I said.
Zybala: I promise. Thanks Doc.
Doctor: Just be careful out there. Take care, Mike.
Zybala: You too. See you later.
: The two shake hands and Zybala makes his way out of the office as the scene fades to black. :
