Hey all,
So this weekend came and went, and as some of you probably noticed, the Inferno didn't get posted. Several things were going on IRL, but I can't blame the show on that, as the main reason it's not up yet is because I continued to hit the wall on writing. I sat down half a dozen times this weekend, wrote a small bit, and then found myself going off to do something else (lot of sleep in there, since we were getting snowed in at the time).
It's been a growing problem since probably after Heat Wave, I'd say, where I've been dealing with the burnout and pushing through it, just out of my own stubbornness to keep things going. This weekend just became the main crash point for me, I guess.
Just to be honest with all of you, I've been dealing with depression and anxiety for a while now. It's not one of those things you can easily shake off, and it usually never goes away. My wife helps me through it, but sometimes I tend to get overwhelmed, and this became one of those times where I just shut down. Thankfully, she was there for me once again, and we did some things this weekend to help get me through it (I painted a Bob Ross for the first time, something my grandfather loved to do).
So with all this rambling, I'm sure you're expecting me to say "The GCWA is closed". Well... not yet.
After thinking things over last night, I've come up with a plan for the next month. I don't want to end things with a missed show, not after the great run we've had. So I'm going to work today to get Inferno up (most of it is actually written, I just need to put it all together). After that, we're not going to have an Inferno this Friday. Instead, I'm going to set up a week and a half window for the next show, which will have the #1 contender's battle and a few other choice match-ups. Once that one's done, I plan to set up a March PPV with all titles on the line, and we'll see where things go from there.
Thanks to all of you who have written for the GCWA and helped out. I do appreciate all of you.
Peace,
Andy aka Ace/DB
P.S. I saw this video this morning that spoke to me a lot, because Mr. Fruit sounds like he's going through a lot of the same things I have been. Plus, the guy even kind of looks like me in real life, in some ways, at least lol. If you want to check it out, go Here.
