I awaken with no concept of time or my location. The first thing that I notice is that it's night, but the ground is unnaturally warm. I push myself up and survey my surroundings, immediately recognizing the unrecognizable. It's New York City, Manhattan to be precise, but something is different, something is wrong. All of the buildings look condemned, the city is dead silent, and there's no signs of life at all.
"What has happened here?", I ask myself, seeing as the city seems oddly uninhibited. I spend what feels like hours wondering the empty streets, all the while wondering what could have possibly caused this. "Covid?" I question? Doubtful, it was pretty much full tilt last I remember, but there were no plans to evacuate, and it's impossible to believe that I've been out long enough for such plans to be executed. No, this is something else. Finally, I find my way to one of BOB's secret hideouts. As I enter the classified location, I notice a figure sitting at my supercomputer. Whoever it is isn't movie. Maybe they're asleep, or worse dead? I cautiously approach the person from behind. Reaching out, I grab their shoulder and spin them around in the chair. The unknown figure jumps up, startling me as I quickly put some distance between us. My eyes must be playing tricks on me, because this woman looks exactly like me,
Only dead!
Zombie me stumbles towards me as I continue to walk backward, horrified by what I see.
"What is this, some kind of joke!?!"
I know better as none of my BOB cohorts would go through this much effort for a laugh...
Well maybe Bobby Bourbon, but I still suspect something else is at play here.
"If this is some sort of joke, you're about to pay for it dearly!" I say as fair warning, but this creature doesn't respond to my threats, instead it lunges at me swiping at my face with it's makeshift claws. I manage to narrowly avoid the blow as I leap back and tumble to my left.
"Weapons case!" I mutter as I stare behind this zombie to the locked cache of weapons. It almost seems as though this beast knows my plan as she looks behind her for just a moment before fixating her stare back onto me. Now or never, I decide as I rush towards the monster. She swings wildly at my head, but I duck and roll, managing to get past her unscathed! I get to the weapons locker and swing it open and pull out a rocket launcher!
Ready!
Aim!
One liners were never my thing...
And just like that, the threat is over.
Or so I thought.
Suddenly the ground beneath my feet splits open the building begins to shake and crumble as fire spits out of the cracks in the ground and demon like beast fly out of the pits and swarm above. "What the actual fuck!?"
I question as I begin to question my own sanity. That's when I see him rising from the depths of Hell.
"YOU! YOU'RE BEHIND THIS!?!"
He doesn't answer me. Instead he just stands there in the flames, staring back at me. Whatever this is, whatever has happened, it's my fault. I knew better than to climb into bed with this man, but I was so blinded by my own fury that I ignored my better judgement. Well enough is enough, I'm ending this!
I fire another rocket at Graves, but the explosion seems to be sucked into the hellish vortex surrounding Graves. He's grown too powerful! I must find another way to stop him!
But before I can, it all goes black, and suddenly it's like I never existed…
Lady Graves awakens from a dead sleep in the comfort of her hotel room.
"What a wild dream!" She says as the scene fades to black.
