On the eve of one of my biggest wrestling nights ever... family comes first.
We see Barry Barrows holding onto Deana Barrows' shoulder, as she can be seen crying. He looks at his beautiful wife, knowing that something has to be done. He gives her shoulder a squeeze, comforting her, before turning and leaving the room. He walks to the side of Deana's condo, seeing a picture hanging there. It's a shot of Hunter Barrows, smiling. Barry nods and takes the picture down, almost dropping it, but managing to catch it at the last second.
My wife is deeply upset about the loss of her brother Hunter, as well as her father, Ace. I've got to find a way to help. I'm not trained as a detective, but I've watched almost every show out there. Law & Order, NCIS, even Life (bet you guys forgot about that one). I'm going to put that knowledge to use. I'm going to find Hunter.
Barry heads out the door with the picture. The shot changes to a montage of bars here in Dallas. All of them are closed. Every shot shows Barry trying to get in, while wearing his mask. Finally, we switch to restaurants, where Barry is showing off the picture of Hunter to different people, none of whom seem to recognize him.
I know I should probably be focusing on Controlled Chaos. I have to defeat a two-time World Television Champion in Tony The Spider, beat either Vic Vinegar or Aaron Warthog, and then I'll have to fight one of my idols, Lord Allton. Because everyone knows Mr. Lord is getting past Zeus. I think the odds are against me, but I've proven time and time again that I can beat the odds. Tony is hurt after that ladder match on Friday, so that should help, too. If I can reach the finals, Mr. Lord Allton has promised me a clean contest against him. He's very good, but it would be ungentlemanly of me not to try and win.
We next see Barry in the garage below the GCWA Arena where the abduction took place. He studies the ground, trying to determine the tire tracks that are (not) there. Barry shakes his head, then walks off, going right past a mysterious van parked on the other side.
Tony, I'm sorry that you're hurting. I'm glad Enforcer didn't kill you. But I can't take it easy on you. Deana is counting on me to contribute to our household, and I know she's amazingly rich, but I still have to do my part. I think that's something you can understand with your own wife. Once I get past you, I think I can make it to the finals, depending on what Vic Vinegar does in his match. And then, it's an all A-List affair. But for now, I'm going to keep searching for my brother-in-law. And I will not rest until... wait, of course I'm going to rest, it's going to take forever. But I'm not going to quit. I'm not a quitter. Not now, not ever.
Now Barry has moved to the video room, where he's used the Barrows' name to allow him to study the tape of Hunter Barrows' abduction. He watches the film multiple times, looking for anything that might give him a clue of who the people are. He focuses on the van, trying to find a way to zoom in and see the plates. Of course, that's all television magic, so there's really no way to do it. Barry also spends almost an hour wasting time by trying to catch a mirrored surface image of the kidnappers.
I will continue my search, and I will find Hunter, and Deana will love me all the more for it. Our relationship will continue to grow. She's already said she may not make it to the PPV, but I think she'll find a way to make time, even with her missing family. Life couldn't be better, and I can't wait to win the tournament. All due respect, Mr. Lord, but I'm coming for you. I'm coming for all of you. Because I'm a winner.
The final shot has Barry walking out of the GCWA Arena, looking left and right, trying to decide where to go next. Dallas is a big, big city. Can he really find the person he's looking for?
