News has broken just now that Lissie Hope, the former GCWA World Heavyweight Champion, has been stripped of the World Title. This is in part due to Hope being found close to death after an apparent overdose. Deana Barrows gave this statement just a short while ago: "It's clear that Hope has shown that she's not the role model many people thought she was. She threw away her opportunity to wrestle for the Global Championship Wrestling Association, proving that at her heart, she was not really a champion. We look forward to crowning James Raven the new World Champion this Sunday at Darkness Falls."
While the title change seems all but certain at this point, there is still no word from co-owner The Accelerator, who made his presence known this past week on Friday Night Inferno by sending a referee down during the World Tag-Team Titles match. We will have to wait and see what happens this weekend, but it seems clear that all ties with Lissie Hope have been irrevocably severed.
