Deana Barrows and Shawn Warstein like this

She watches helplessly as James is dragged off by security, leaving her surrounded by enemy forces. O’Connor is still recovering after his extended time in the Tuez Les Etoiles, and Big Bifford was being shockingly fair in his duties as Enforcer. Turning, she comes face to face with that bitter bitch, Deana Barrows, who happens to be in the ring. Of course, Deana just couldn’t keep herself out of Legacy’s spotlight, could she? Still, it’d be nice to wipe that smug look off her face… But before she can take a step, Big Bifford is in between them. Disappointment quickly turns to amusement as Big Bifford turns to Barrows and ejects her. Laughing openly, she turns to finish the job… CLAYMORE! Dazed, she looks up into the fluorescent lights of the stadium, barely hearing the three-count. Finally realizing her situation, she picks the shoulder…
DING DING DING
Minos: Here is your winner... and still the GCWA Heavyweight Champion of the World... Mack O'Connor!!
Betsy Granger pauses the footage again on that moment. Everything about the scene is hard to swallow: Deana’s smirking face. O’Connor getting his hand raised. Herself, sitting up slowly with James’ help once everyone else had left the ring. The fans applauded her efforts, many of them voicing the opinion that she had been screwed over.
She couldn’t help but to agree with them on some level.
Not that she ultimately didn’t have herself to blame. She’d made this mistake before, and history had just repeated itself. This time, however, the prize was much greater, the scale was much larger, and every eye was on her. And those eyes watched as she let her own amusement cost her the opportunity to bring the World Title home to Legacy. Her emerald eyes fixate on the smirking face of Deana Barrows, marking it once again to her memory.
Deana… Now that she’d had a chance to watch the tapes and hear the commentary, her distaste for the woman grew. Not a day had gone by where she regretted breaking Legacies ties with Barrows. Deceitful and conniving, these were traits Legacy didn’t need attached to them; though much of the wrestling community seemed to think these traits were their driving force. Perhaps for a time, under Deana’s careless eye.
Lost in her thoughts, she didn’t hear the other members of her merry band of brotherhood come in. Seeing her sitting alone, dressed to spar but unmoving, they exchange a glance among themselves. Picking up the remote, Betsy rewinds the tape to watch the last sequences of the match play out again. And once again, she pauses it at the exact moment Deana’s smirking face can be seen in the background. Legacy approaches and surrounds her chair, staring at the screen with her.
“She does wear a bit like a bridge-dwelling troll, doesn’t she?” Jackson remarks, clearly still relieved he’d dodged that bullet.
“Hmph.” The Impossible Traveler, everyone.
“Oi, would ya cheer the fuck up, ya miserable cunt?” Noah pipes in, earning a raised eyebrow from Betsy.
“Uh… What?”
“What my stepson here is trying to say is, it’s not the end of the world, Dove. Don’t over analyze and let it eat at you.” Atara says, recovering for Noah’s over-enthusiasm.
“I wish it were that simple… But I let you all down. How can you even be so supportive after I dropped the ball this badly?”
“You didn’t do anything the rest of us wouldn’t have done, babe.” Raven reassures her, standing behind her chair to rub her shoulders and plant a kiss atop her golden head. “We all laughed our asses off when Biff ejected the bitch. No one is angry or disappointed in you.”
“We all have our off-nights, kid. You put up a hell of a fight and we’re all proud of how you did out there. How many times do I have to tell you: When one fails, the group fails. When one succeeds, the group succeeds. What’s it going to take to make you see...” Shawn says, sliding on a pair of purple sunglasses and a heavily fringed, tie-dyed vest. Everyone but Raven steps back behind him, adorning themselves similarly. Raven offers his hand to Betsy as Warstein comes towards her and begins to sing.
“What would you do if I sang out of tune?
Would you stand up and walk out on me?
Lend me your ears, then I'll sing you a song
I will try not to sing out of key, yeah”
At this, James dances Betsy over to the middle of her group of friends as he joins them in singing the chorus.
“Oh, baby I get by (Ah, with a little help from my friends)
All I need is my buddies (Ah, with a little help from my friends)
I say I'm gonna get high (Ah, with a little help from my friends)
Oh yeah (Ooh)"
Now Betsy gets danced around by her family as they continue to sing to her.
“What do I do when my love is away?
(Does it worry you to be alone?)
No no
How do I feel at the end of the day?
(Are you sad because you're on your own?)
I tell ya I don't get sad no more
(Ah, with a little help from my friends)
Gonna get by with my friends (Ah, with a little help from my friends)
Yeah yeah, I'm gonna try (Ah, with a little help from my friends)
Keep on getting high, oh Lord (Ooh)”
(Do you need anybody?)
I need somebody to love
(Could it be anybody?)
All I need is someone
That's just where I'm going, yeah
Somebody knows that's where I'm showing
Baby
(Ah, with a little help from my friends)
Said I'm gonna make it with my friends (Ah, with a little help from my friends)
Oh, I'm gonna keep on trying (Ah, with a little help from my friends)
I'm gonna keep on trying (Ooh)”
Would you believe in a love at first sight
Yes I'm certain that it happen all the time
What do you see when you turn out the light
I can't tell you but I know it's mine
Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends
Mm, I get high with a little help from my friends
Mm, gonna try with a little help from my friends
Do you need anybody, I just need someone to love
Could it be anybody, I want somebody to love
Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends
with a little help from my friends
Gonna get by with my friends
(Try high with a little help from my friends)
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm gonna try
(Try with a little help from my friends)
Keep on getting' high, oh, Lord.”
As her family continues to dance around her and sing of friendship, Betsy begins to feel the weight lifting from her shoulders. Smiling, she begins dancing in the middle of the circle, letting the moment wash over her with a wave of bliss.
“(Would you believe in love at first sight?)
I'm certain it happens all the time, yeah
(What do you see when you turn out the light?)
I can't tell you but it sure feels like mine.”
The last line bursts from her lips in a strong, clear voice. Shawn grins and the two face each other as they sing in tandem. The others continue an uncannily synced dance routine as they sing backup.
(Ah, with a little help from my friends)
Don't you know I'm gonna make it with my friends? (Ah, with a little help from my friends)
I promised myself I'd get by (Ah, with a little help from my friends)
Said I'm gonna try and not work too hard (Ooh)”
Shawn leaves Betsy for a moment as he takes the reins back. He steps up to Atara, gazing into her eyes and running his knuckles softly down her cheek as he sings.
“(Do you need anybody?)
Well I, yeah yeah yeah
(Could it be anybody?)
Oh there's gotta be somebody
Don't treat me wrong Lord
Oh yeah yeah”
The group turns back towards one another and they all begin to sing together.
(Ah, with a little help from my friends)
Said I'm gonna get by with my friends, yeah (Ah, with a little help from my friends)
Oh, yes I'm gonna keep trying, now (Ah, with a little help from my friends)
Keep on trying with my friends (Ah, with a little help from my friends)
Oh, I'm never gonna stop there, oh (Ah, with a little help from my friends)
I'm gonna keep on trying, yeah yeah (Ah, with a little help from my friends)
I'm getting high, I'm gonna make time, oh Lord (Ooh)
Gonna get by with my friends
Oh, I'm gonna get on by, yes I'm gonna get on by, my Lord
I'm gonna tell them all about it, I'm gonna tell them all, yeah yeah.”
James lifts Betsy into the air and spins her around as she laughs wild and carefree. Warstein steals a kiss from Atara while Noah and Jackson continue to sing merrily. Spirits are lifted and camaraderie is at a high as the song and incidentally the scene fades out.

“Well that didn’t exactly go according to plan, did it?
Congratulations on managing to skate by on another thin win, Mack. That’s not to say you were a cakewalk in the ring, but circumstances certainly didn’t hurt in putting things in your favor. I’m not mad at you for it, you did exactly what I would have done. The fact that I let my own cockiness over Deana’s situation distract me long enough to walk right into the Claymore… That’s entirely on me. So kudos to you, you retain the belt and manage to stay out of jail another day. All I ask of you is this: Make it count.
Oh Deana… I could go on an entire spiel about the things I’d like to do to you about now. But I’ll save it. This isn’t the time or place, but be assured that our business is far from over.
As for the World Title situation… Please don’t mistake my silence on the situation for defeat. You haven’t seen the last of me or the Legacy in the hunt.
This is merely a moment for me to regroup.
This transition period was never going to be a smooth one. I’d have been a fool to allow myself to believe any differently. Am I disappointed at leaving Adrenaline Rush empty-handed? Of fucking course I am! Do I believe Deana is responsible for my loss? As much as I’d love to blame her, she’s only a factor. Ultimately, it was my own decision making that cost me the prize. Will this loss keep me from getting my ass back to the top of the food chain?
You better fucking believe it won’t.
Now, to the business at hand:
No hard feelings Tony, you seem like a decent fella. But I’ve been forced to start back at the beginning, which puts me in a bit of a foul mood. I’m afraid I’ll have to do to you what I do to most over-sized arachnids…
SQUASH.
You do have my sympathies. You’ve been chosen to be the scapegoat for venting my frustrations and for that I apologize. It’s a spot I personally wouldn’t have chosen you to be in, but it is what it is. I hold nothing against you friend and I hope that when we part, you'll still see that. But I'm about ready to rip someone apart and sadly for you, you're first in line. I’ll see you at Inferno.
