We are sticking with a similar grading scale as OCW had, so here's it spelled out for you, so you can understand what I'm looking for.
Setting (1-5 pts)
I'm definitely looking for different and unique settings. A house roleplay or one at the arena backstage (or in the ring) will usually get you only 1 point, and will probably cost you the match. Take your characters somewhere different. Live a little.
CD/Storyline (1-5 pts)
I usually weigh the story portion as the most important as a grader. What are your characters up to? What's going on in their lives? Is the roleplay leading to character development, showing a new side to them? How can the story be built into the match to make it more original? Your stories will lead to your success in the GCWA.
Promo (1-5 pts)
It's always important to have your roleplay connect to who you're facing. You need to slip in discussions about your opponent, what you're going to do to them, what's going to happen in the match, that sort of thing. If you just mention your opponent once in passing and spend the rest of the time on the story, you'll get a very low grade in this section.
Grammar (1-5 pts)
This one is fairly obvious. If there are a ton of grammatical and spelling mistakes, you'll get a lower grade. I try not to grade too harshly on this, but if it takes away from the roleplay, your grade will be lowered.
Word Count (1-4 pts)
So, like OCW, we're going to have a 2k word limit. 1-500 words is 1 pt, 501-1000 is 2 pts, 1001-1500 is 3 pts, and 1501-2000 is 4 pts. So if you make it to 1501 words, you get an automatic 4 pts. There will also be a 250-word buffer. So you can go as far as 2,250 words without penalty. After that, points will start to be taken away every 100 words.
Regular matches on Friday Night Inferno will almost always be one roleplay only. PPV matches, title matches, and some tournament matches will require 2 roleplays. Tag-team matches will require 2 roleplays, one from each participant. If you have to do 2 roleplays, the scores will be combined to decide your final score. Two roleplays will almost always beat one, in other words.
For two roleplay matches, do keep in mind that you can only post one roleplay a day. This helps to avoid any "ambushes" of opponents who become convinced that they don't need to post a second roleplay. You can, of course, talk with your opponent beforehand and get permission to post twice in one day, but they have to agree (and I would need to be notified).
I will recommend that, for 2 roleplays, I like to see them connected. So if you do your first roleplay with one story, and your second roleplay with a completely unrelated story, you will be at a disadvantage to the roleplayer who has a story arch across the two roleplays.
That's what we've got for the grading. If you have any questions, put them in this thread, and I'll do my best to answer them. If you have protests about how I graded, probably message me quietly, and we'll talk about it and figure out what happened. Good luck to all!
