What's going to happen with the GCWA World Heavyweight Title?
Rumors have continued to circulate around GCWA Headquarters after the events of GCWA High Rollers. When The Big Bifford attacked GCWA co-owner Jonathan Barrows and delivered his finisher, the banned Biff End jumping piledriver, many wrestling reporters began speculating about the state of the title.
"Jonathan Barrows had made it very clear that if The Biff End was used, he would strip the championship and give it to the #1 contender. That's indisputable", famous Internet wrestling guru Jock Strap believes. "That would mean that we could see Eric Dane be crowned champion this Friday. What an insult that would be to the champion, seeing the man he defeated get handed the strap!"
Others have disagreed. Noted columnist Maggie Sinclair brought up that "Since Dane lost the contest, he would no longer be considered the #1 contender. But I don't think that will stop the Barrows brothers from acting. I'm expecting the World Championship to be be vacated, pending a decision on how to decide the new champion."
Former GCWA wrestler Robert Santana doesn't believe it will even go that far. "To be honest, since the move didn't happen during a match, I'm not sure the banned stipulation holds up. Plus, as Bifford himself stated, the ban was for Texas, and the event took place in Nevada. Bifford is a very intelligent, shrewd wrestler. I'm sure he has a plan."
It remains to be seen what the actual result will be. No official word has come out of GCWA Headquarters, leading to the very likely possibility that the announcement will be made this week on Friday Night Inferno.
