*The camera opens up on the loading docks of the Midland County Horseshoe Arena & Pavilion in Midland, Texas. A U-Haul is currently backing into position, presumably with some of the items needed for setting up for Friday's show, the first in over 9 years for the GCWA. Directing traffic is Jonathan "Pryde" Barrows, doing his best to make sure everything gets unloaded without a hitch.*
Jonathan Barrows: Okay, guys, everything in this truck should be for the ring set-up. Remember, we can't get the ring set up yet, but we have space to the side here to store everything. Thank goodness the Desert Paws Obedience Club isn't until next weekend. Be very careful unloading, because we don't exactly have spare ring equipment lying around. Thanks.
*The couple of local boys nod, looking annoyed at being told their jobs. They probably do work here at the Horseshoe Arena a lot. But Jonathan is being careful, knowing how much is at stake today. He walks away, ticking another item off his list, when he sees an Uber driver pulling up. A man gets out of the car, thanking the driver, before getting a large duffel bag out of the trunk. He walks over, spotting Jonathan and giving him a wave.*
Man: Hey, bro! Thought you'd meet me at the airport!
*Jonathan shakes his head. His dad had requested that his brother have transportation when he landed, but he didn't specify that Jonathan himself had to be there. And Jonathan has more than enough on his plate without being a chauffeur.*
Jonathan Barrows: Looks like you found the Uber I sent you alright. Glad you finally made it, Hunter.
*Hunter Barrows dusts himself off before stepping in and giving his brother a hug. Jonathan doesn't look too excited about it, but goes along with it. Hunter then steps back, looking around the loading docks.*
Hunter Barrows: So this is where Dad's dream gets going again, eh?
Jonathan Barrows: That's the hope. We could have used you a week ago.
Hunter Barrows: Hey, I had to finish up my overseas commitments! I didn't want to ruin that market for us by skipping out on my final two weeks of wrestling matches.
Jonathan Barrows: I suppose not. There's still plenty here to do, but you could have stopped by the hotel and dropped off your luggage first.
Hunter Barrows: And miss out on all the fun? No chance. So where are we at?
*Jonathan looks around quickly, seeing the workers nearby unloading the U-Haul. He gestures, and the two men step off to the side.*
Jonathan Barrows: I think things are going well so far. We've got a lot of people buying tickets for Friday night, so it will probably be a pretty full house. Not that this arena is that big, but I'll take what I can get.
Hunter Barrows: Okay, how's the talent drive going? I talked to a few guys who might be willing to fly into the U.S., but it's such a commitment that they're definitely going to need to see how great we are first.
Jonathan Barrows: I've got a few guys like that as well. I remember the days when it just was about the paycheck, nothing more. Now we have to be a proven commodity. But we've got some good guys for the first card.
Hunter Barrows: I heard about the Round Robin Tournament on the plane ride here. Think it's such a good idea, having the same four guys wrestle so many times in a row?
Jonathan Barrows: Yeah, that wasn't me. That was Dad's idea.
*Hunter nods, expecting that. Their father, The Accelerator, was the original founder of the Global Championship Wrestling Association. He will have a heavy hand in the booking for the company, despite his being older now.*
Jonathan Barrows: Look... I'm going to need your support, Hunter. You and I, we're co-owners of this business, same as Dad, and we'll need to work together to make this thing work.
Hunter Barrows: That bad, huh?
*Jonathan rubs the back of his neck, while looking around again to make sure nobody has gotten closer.*
Jonathan Barrows: You know Dad. He likes to think his generation was the best. I've tried to tell him that we need to book the younger wrestlers and build from the ground up, but he's obsessed with finding out where all the old GCWA wrestlers have gone. He wants to re-sign as many as possible.
Hunter Barrows: There can't be many that are still wrestling at this point.
Jonathan Barrows: You'd be surprised. From what I hear, Ace has even found some of the support staff that used to work here during GCWA's last run. I don't know how many of them are still going to be able to do what's needed to be done.
Hunter Barrows: Well, you know me, Johnny. I'm all about the current wrestlers, both here and international. So I'll back you on getting some new talent in. But don't underestimate Dad. Just judging by the tournament, he's fully planning on pushing the old guard.
Jonathan Barrows: Then we'll just have to teach him that the future is brighter and the past is dying. Whatever it takes.
Hunter Barrows: So when do we get to wrestle?
Jonathan Barrows: Ha, you're joking, right?
*The two men head off inside the arena, with Jonathan wanting to check out how the arrangement will be. We fade out.*
