GCWA News.
As if the events on last Friday’s Inferno were not controversial and heated as is, GCWA News has learned things may have escalated more out of control than expected.
GCWA News has learned the executive board has put round the clock armed security teams in charge of personally guarding Johnathan Barrows, PerZag, and Ed Houston after thousands of emails, texts and calls ranging from demands on Barrows to resign, to full fledged death threats on all three men, have officials taking precautions.
“GCWA is committed to the safety of its wrestlers and crew members. While we understand the situation last Friday may have upset people, it is no excuse for fans to threaten the personal safety of our personnel. We implore people to be calm and respect the safety and health of the people that week in and week out provide some of the best pro wrestling competition on the planet.”
Security will be ramped up at events until the situation has improved.
Meanwhile, also pertaining to events this past Friday, it seems a cold war has been declared by Tony Savage against GCWA after the events in the Main Event. Tony has apparently unfollowed the fed on Twitter, and informed the company until further notice, will not promote the company in any form until, as he deemed via a spokesperson “I fucking decide to. No sense making those cocksuckers money when they pull shit like that.”
Several potential sponsors that Savage had tapped to endorse the fed have now walked away from the deal, and Gunning For a Cure made this statement following the incident.
“Considering the conduct of management this past Friday, we’ve made a decision to end our arraignment with the federation. We apologize for any inconvenience to those that donated to the Blood on The Battlefield fund drive, but we will no longer honor those vouchers for a free viewing of the PPV. We are offering either full, immediate refunds for the inconvenience, or alternate gifts for donations. But, as of today, we will no longer work with GCWA in any further capacity.”
Tony himself could not be reached for comment, and many are speculating if this could be the beginning of the end of his employment in the fed…
Or considering his reputation for violence and retribution, the start of something potentially ugly and destructive.
GCWA News will have more as the story unfolds.
